A R Rahman Googled Pele Before Composing a Song in His Biopic
Oscar-winning musician A R Rahman has openly confessed that he didn’t know about when he was asked to score a song for a film relating to life and times of the iconic football player Pele. While launching the trailer of Hollywood movie, “Pele: Birth of a Legend”, A R Rahman disclosed that he had to google on internet to know more about the Brazilian football legend.
Undoubtedly, A R Rahman means music and his whole life revolves around it. He doesn’t have enough time to look after other things. “When I was approached for the project, I first Googled who Pele was, because my life is all music. I saw amazing things about him and who he was. After that I read the script. I had tremendous respect for the project,” Rahman told PTI.

A R Rahman Composed Ginga Song
Rahman, who created record with Jai Ho song in 2009, stated that he composed Ginga song for the film which will celebrate the life and times of Pele’s undisputed legacy in the world of football. Ginga refers to style of playing the game. For the first time ever, Rahman has composed a song an internationally appealing song with Brazilian essence.
Meanwhile, the 49-year-old music composer admitted that it has huge honour for him to compose a song for the legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Pele. The good news is both films will be releasing this year. While scoring music for the song, Rahamn had personally met Pele and the legend watched the movie and liked it as well. The film “Pele: Birth of a Legend” is directed by Jeff Zimbalist and Michael Zimbalist. The biopic is all set to release this Friday.
