Teri Fariyad Song Brings Life into Late Jagjit Singh’s Voice

Musical blockbuster, Tum bin, was released more than a decade and half back, but its magic continues. The touching script, background score, astute direction and of course Jagjit Singh’s iconic voice in the song, “Koi fariyad”, made this film immortal. This time its Teri Fariyad song is expected to create same magic.

Tum Bin 2 is releasing next month and what people missing most this time is the auspicious presence of the legend Jagjit Singh. He has almost singlehandedly made the first version of the film – Tum Bin – superhit with his masterly voice.

Director of the film Anubhav Singha said, “We hit upon the idea where we changed the format of ghazals. Normally ghazals have two main lines, and in this version we have two fresh lines and the third line is from the original ghazal, which brings back Jagjit ji into the new version”, he said while talking to IANS.

What’s So Special About Teri Fariyad Song this Year? 

Every time, that husky voice of magical Jagjit Singh comes to our minds, it keeps on reverberating. Nobody can match that spectacular voice echoed with perfect love for music and everlasting charm. Music director Ankit Tiwari has tried recreating the same connection with the audience through this song.  The surprise element of the song is the presence of Jagjit Singh’s original cadence in snippets. Singer Rekha Bharadwaj has also crooned in the song.

Teri Fariyad is more than just a filmy song. It presents a glimpse to the plot of the story. Tum Bin 2 is mostly a romantic movie with added twist to the love triangle involving actress Neha Sharma and newbies Aditya Seal and Ashim Gulati. A few visuals of the song will almost take your memory to the time of Tum Bin way back in the year 2001.
