The race for supremacy between MARVEL and DC just doesn’t seem to end. To stay at the top, both of them are constantly improving their comic and cinematic universes. This competition has led to a significant increase in the number of superhero movies recently, and we as the audience get provided with newer movies to quench our thirst for superhero action.
As MARVEL fans gear up for Doctor Strange (releasing on 4th November 2016), DC fans have to wait until 17th November 2017 for the release of Justice League. The movie follows on the plot line established by Batman vs. Superman. Movie portrays how the DC heroes unite to face off a greater enemy. Sounds like another edition of Avengers, but repainted in the DC universe.
The cast of Justice League consists of Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Ezra Miller (The Flash) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg) in lead roles.
DC comics released the first look of Amber Heard in the movie, who returns to the big screen in the role of Mera, the queen of Atlantis. She is donning a scuba-like bodysuit with green scales, and a befitting headpiece.
Director Zack Snyder also tweeted the photo, with an elaborate caption, ‘Saw this hydrokinetic vision come out of the sea and snapped a photo with my Leica’.
After her divorce with Johnny Depp, this would be Amber’s biggest role. She plays only a supporting role in this film, romancing with Aquaman (Jason Momoa).
By the looks of the released image, Zack and DC have surely put in a lot of work in the movie.
But how exactly does the movie hold up, can only be known next year? We all hope that this movie would be a better installment in the DC universe because Batman vs. Superman had been a disaster.
