“The biggest disease today is not leprosy or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling of being unwanted”– Mother Teresa
When we love someone, we just love giving our all. However, there are times when we start expecting certain things from them. I know, we must not expect anything but just give our all; but we cannot deny that we are just human only and expectations seep in even if of a little amount. These expectations are not humungous in nature, but real simple ones. We expect attention, love, care, kind words and what not. But the worst case is when you in love pour your heart on them, yet they make you don’t respect that. The feeling of being a burden or just being unwanted to them seeps in. This can be felt in any relationship, be it of parent and child or of lovers or of friends.
How hurtful it would be for parents who have spent their entire life in nurturing you to know that their kids don’t value them or they are a burden on them or maybe they are the hurdle in their success or life. How hurtful it would be for the lover to know that the love was not respected. How a friend would feel when the other doesn’t value.

But there are times when you love, but you just cannot express it and this leads to misunderstanding. So let’s know how you can make the person feel that they do have a special place in your heart and immense respect as well.
Firstly, understand that saying I love you is not important, but expressing the same love and care through action is.
The person, who loves you, doesn’t love those materialistic gifts but they love the feelings. They just love you. For them, your presence is enough. Your kind words can brighten their day. A surprise with a gift is okay, but the essence lies in you.
Agreed that you are under work pressure, but why don’t you spend your time with them just as a child or friend or lover. Leave your professional role and frustration at the workplace. Share a good laughter, your worries, but don’t just stay upset.
Don’t work towards maintaining the relationships. Just nurture the relationships with your love and care. However, don’t make your care stifling as well.
Understand this feeling unwanted by the person whom you love the most, can really be depressing.
