The World Culture Festival is all set to begin today. A lot has been already said about the festival for its alleged violation of environmental norms. But nobody can overlook the impressive idea behind this initiative. It is a festival to celebrate the diversity in cultures from across the world to spread the message of global peace and harmony.

- The official website of Art of Living describes the event as “a celebration of The Art of Living’s 35 years of service to the humanity, spirituality and human values.”
- This festival will provide a unique platform for spiritual and religious leaders, politicians, eminent personalities, peacemakers and artists from around the world to spread the message of unity and to celebrate the cultural diversity.

- As much as 7 million people are expected to participate in this cultural gathering – out of which 3.5 million people will be attending the event on ground in New Delhi while the other 3.5 million people will be joining through the live telecast.
- The venue of World Culture Festival 2016 is spread over a sprawling 1000 acres of open land with the “world’s largest temporary stage” set up over 7 acres.
- People from as many as 155 countries, 101 languages and 19 religions are expected to attend this magnanimous event.

- More than 20000 international guests from South America, Mongolia, Russia, US, Europe, Japan, Malaysia, Australia and Pakistan, etc. are expected.
- This historic event will see 35973 artists from 24 countries performing 23 traditional art forms.

- The festival is an initiative to revive ancient Indian art forms. There will be 1600 dancers performing Mohiniattam and Kathakali, 1000 dancers for Kathak and 8500 musicians to play acoustic instruments.

- The highlight of the event is the World’s Biggest Meditation Session that will be attended by 7 million people worldwide.
- The event will also include The Global Leadership Forum, co –hosted by the World Forum of Ethics in Business and the Art of Living Foundation. It will bring together business tycoons, social and economic leaders, representatives from Government, science, politics, NGOs, sports, academia and media to discuss and debate the policies needed for the development of world.

- The Art of Living foundation has spent a staggering amount of Rs. 25.63 crores on the event.
- The National green Tribunal has slapped a massive fine of Rs. 5 crore on the Art of Living for the damage occurred on the Yamuna bank due to construction.
