Baba Ramdev comes down hard on the Triple Talaq law

In an ongoing row throughout the nation to abolish the law of Triple Talaq, Baba Ramdev has cleared his stand against the controversial rule. In his interview given to the ANI, Baba Ramdev said that Muslim clerics should understand that this law is against women. In a brief series of questions, Baba Ramdev talked about the current Muslim personal laws of not promoting gender equality. Ramdev also appreciated the decision of boycotting Chinese goods in this small interview to ANI.

While the top leaders and the women rights activists of the nation have been appreciating the affidavit by the government in order to discard the Triple Talaq and Polygamy, the All India Muslim Personal Body has been opposing this gesture by the government.

According to the AIMPLB, the Uniform Civil Code could kill India’s pluralism. Other Muslim bodies accused of Modi being at war against their personal laws. It all started when the government had asked for the nation’s stand over the abolishment of Triple Talaq and Polygamy in order to promote gender equality. This was faced by mixed reactions by different political and religion leaders.
