India’s star Badminton player PV Sindhu has won a billion heart with her awestruck performance in the Badminton match final at Rio Olympics 2016. It was a neck to neck fighting match against the top-seeded Carolina Marin of Spain.
PV Sindhu was definitely under pressure from the start but it was her strong grits and determination that saw her winning the first set 21-19. But Carolina Marin made a strong comeback in the second round beating PV Sindhu 21-12. In the third round, despite Sandhu’s heroics, Marin went on to win the final set 21-15 leaving the entire India in deep shock.
However, for Indians what matters is the performance which has stunned whole world. PV Sindhu had won our hearts. She is a true champion for us. She has not just made India proud with her silver medal, but has also emerged as a new role model for the youth.
Even after losing this match, this scintillating knock from PV Sindhu will continue to reverberate in our minds for a long long time. She is the first Indian woman badminton player who have reached in the final of an Olympics match. She has done what no other female athletes from India had ever done for the nation.
Hats off PV Sindhu
Frankly speaking even though, Spain’s Carolina Marin won the gold medal at Rio Olympics 2016, PV Sindhu fought her best in this match. Rank wise speaking, Sindhu is far below than Marin. The latter is world’s number one woman Badminton player, while Sindhu is ranked at number 10.
