An Open Letter To KK

Dear KK Sir,

Before terming it as a simple fan mail, I wish you to read ahead. I have a few important things to say to you and million song lovers across India and worldwide. I took this opportunity to let you know that there are several singers now; there were several singers in the past, but that quintessential soothing and heart-touching melodious voice that I found in your songs is simply missing on all other singers.

Kishore Kumar and Md. Rafi are the legends, the two of India’s most prolific singers who dominated Bollywood for more than three decades together. Your own name, Krishnakumar Kunnath, or simply KK, is identical to the acronym of the great Kishore Kumar with those two capital Ks. Undoubtedly, you were destined to be someone special!

Your humility, calm and composed persona and of course the charm of staying away from limelight while letting your songs do all the talk, has touched my heart and mind like nothing else. The way you portray yourself in real life is something truly inspiring and commendable. Even now, many people sing your songs without knowing who the real voice was behind them. But your down-to-earth attitude and staying away from fame and unnecessary controversies make you a real life rockstar instantly.

I have no qualm in accepting the truth that you are the most talented and versatile singer in Bollywood. You are the best singer of this era. Each of your songs has successfully carved a place inside my heart. You can make us cry and smile with the same song, “hum rahe yaa naa rahe kal, yaad aayenge yeh pal… is one of them.

In one of the recent documentary shows on Times Now, for the first time ever you revealed that how noted music composer Rajesh Roshan asked you to sing the song “Dil Kyun Yeh Mera” for the film Kites saying that since Kishore Kumar is no longer living with us, so he wanted you to croon that song. Can you believe how much a sense of vindication it brought inside our hearts? It’s infinite!

We always believed that if there is any one singer who should appear in the same list alongside the legends Kishore Kumar and Md. Rafi among all time best singers of India, then definitely you well deserve that honor. You have that same aura, versatile talents and god like persona that we expect our idols and role models to be. You are fantastic, flawless and fabulous.

Over the last few years, you are only getting better with age, one brilliant performance after another. You are someone whose two minute melodious voice can make our day.

You can make us groove to the song, “tu ne maari entriyaa (Goonday), then you can make us feel more romantic with the song, “Zara sa dil mein (Jannat)” and finally you can bring tears to our eyes with the song, “tu jo mila (Bajrangi Bhaijaan)” . Overall, each of your songs is simply the best of the best.

What else can we ask for? Wishing you lots of luck and all the best for your future endeavors.

Stay awesome!

Thank You

Sincerely Yours

A KK Fan!!
