Perks Of Living In A Girls Hostel
Living in a girl’s hostel is a brilliant life experience because you meet tons of different kinds of people, and amongst the cat fights, tears, and laughter, you learn how to effectively deal with all of them and you learn about the different walks of life and make memories which last for a life time. And boys, no matter how amazing a girl’s hostel life is, the thought of sneaking into a boys hostel never goes away from their minds.
Here are some of the perks of living in a girls hostel-
1. GOSSIPING||NETWORKING
And that the nights are riddled with crazy gossip scenes where everyone knows everything about everyone, from the juiciest flings to the most infamous fights! We have tons of topics to discuss. From gossiping about the new teacher to complaining about the mess food like how the dinner time is often ruined by slimy ‘dal’ dumped ungraciously on our plates, we do it all! We are more aware about things of our college than any other guy in the world.
We love to complain about the rules, which we are unaware of and which we never tend to follow. Oh, well. It’s not termed as gossiping. It’s just sharing some real important stuff about the world.
2. Birthday Surprises
Meticulous planning and execution of birthdays surprises at 12AM happens only in a girl’s hostel. They decorate and make the room look more prettier because girls love to surprise girls. Be it the comebacks or birthday parties, girls are good at giving surprises.
3. Catfights
Catfights and arguments are a regular occurrence, and stuff probably gets ugly: nail scratching, slapping, hair pulling carried out with intense bitterness because girls just don’t agree on a few things. Finally breaking out and ending it all with a warm hug.
4. Group Study/ Stalking
The major plan of group study ends up in stalking of attractive boys on Facebook and Instagram. But not always do they waste their time, a night before the exam the Study groups provide an excellent opportunity to fill in gaps in the notes and to hone their people skills. One also improves by learning other’s favourite study tricks. When you’re totally freaking out over prelims, there’s always someone who can teach you what you don’t know.
5. Meri Maggi
Life without Maggi is almost impossible for a hosteler. It is our saviour in the times of crisis. The night is saved after we gobble down packets of this delicacy, promptly made in, one of our most essential and hidden item (obviously, from the warden), the kettles.
Not only maggie, the hostellers show no mercy to the person or the food items that comes from home.
6. Washroom Blues
The day begins with long queues outside each washroom. We, in a sleepy state, are surrounded by a blur of activities from all sides and it doesn’t end with the day. You find girls gossiping in front of the mirror even at 2 AM.
The facial features don’t change in a day or so then what do they look at. God knows!
7. Laptop is our Bestie
Many won’t agree on this but yes our laptop is our best friend. It contains mammoth GB of latest Hollywood and Bollywood movies, fiction series, talk shows, dance shows, award ceremonies and everything imaginable in every possible language. But no, not saas bahu serials of course!
Online shopping is our key to happiness. Everyone knows how much we love to shop because keeping our wardrobe updated with the latest fashion.
8. Friends for Life
Hostel is a home away from home. It is one of the best phase of our lives. We learn to share, care and make bonds which last a lifetime. You know you can always find someone who’s ready with some chips and biscuits, a funny episode on YouTube and a shoulder to cry on, no matter what time of the day, or night it is.
You can always bum around in your friend’s room in abject boredom, stalking people and giggling about that one girls super weird outfit earlier that day in college. Self pampering is a fun loving task to do with friends, but not for all the girls. Many stay cool without such girly makeovers.
9. Expanded Wardrobe
Which girl doesn’t want 10 different wardrobes to pick an outfit from? The girls hostel makes this wondrous dream a reality. Running to each other’s rooms for clothes and accessories before going on a special occasion. “I’ve nothing to wear” is very normal in a girl’s hostel.
You get free fashion consultations from almost every girl on the floor whenever you want! There is always one girl who is highly skilled with hair and make-up, and is usually super eager to help you out and show off her make up skills.
10. Permanent Sleepover
Late nights with bowls of popcorn, coke, and a scary movie are a regular here. From major selfie taking sessions to complete makeover photoshoots inside the rooms are very normal in a girl’s gang. Singles or groupfies taking the perfect selfie just takes major time of the night.
It’s like a sleepover that never ends, how great is that?!
