For some, poetry is too complicated and needs time. But what if I say here are few collection of beautiful poems which are extremely short reads and will take to you to another world, then?

So here we bring a list of books, which are exceptionally, mind blowing.

Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair by Pablo Neruda

The raw emotions can leave anyone scathed. Each time they hit the square. In addition to that, this collection is high on these emotions. They will tear you up, yet you can never have enough of these poems. One more thing, it will not even take 2 hours to read it through. However, it’s on you how much time you take to savour it.

Dirty Pretty Things by Michael Faudet

The lust couldn’t have been more poetic.

The love flowing in lust and the lust in the love-you will simply curl toes with each flip of page. You can finish it within a couple of hours, but I wonder why would someone not read it to love of life. Each poem will be a reminder of your love and leave you yearning for that special someone.

Memories by Lang Leav

It is a crime to name one particular collection by Long Leav. The reason is once you start reading Lang Leav, you simply cannot tell which one is better. Each turn of page is best yet better unfolds with another unfurling. You would want to highlight all, yet all is not enough.

With Lang Leave and Michael Faudet, you surely are going to face a typical bibliophile dilemma. You want to devour all yet you don’t want to end it at all.

Poisoned Apples by Christine Heppermann

While the book cover enchants you to infinity, each poem will scoop a hole in your soul but for good. The collection is surely a feminist one, which debases the fairy tales and ‘knight in the shining armor’ concept.

Interspersed with black and white photographs but each is aptly poignant. Each poem will leave you in pool of tears yet you will yearn for more. It is going to leave you wrecked but exposes to many realities. Hepperman has cunningly added few comic elements here and there to break that murkiness. But trust me, you are not going to regret this short read.

The Prophet by Khalil Gibran

After breaking you apart with Poisoned Apples, I have The Prophet for you, to soothe your soul. It is not a sermon, but this poem takes you on a journey laying bare many explored and unexplored horizons. It’s a must read to elevate you from many falsities, which you consider reality.

It will drag you in a halo to leave you in light. Each word will make you yearn for next and each unfurling page will unfurl your soul. This is neither a religious nor spiritual read, it is just condensed version to take you to much higher plane. Indeed yet another short read, but amazingly captivating one.

The collections range from feminist to soul-searching, and even to exploring the bodies and to hearts- but each read will steal your heart. If poems never interested you, then your first will be amazing. But if you are already entrenched in magic of poems, then let go of yourself and rise higher in love of poetry.

Happy Reading!!!
